Information on the company
Our client is a company that builds companies. They find inefficient and poorly run businesses whose competitive moats have been eroded by AI and other advances — and then clone and improve them from scratch. Just as cloud computing and the internet created the conditions for VC-backed SaaS startups, and junk bonds allowed for the rise of LBO funds, they believe that the execution speed and abundance of context enabled by LLMs will power a new type of business model. AI means almost every business should change — the company exist to help make that happen.
The company is structured as a collection of business units, each targeting a specific market opportunity, with:
A de-risked, detailed business plan with ambitious and defined goals
A small, elite team of 3–4 people
All necessary capital, expertise, and relationships in place
Founded by a second-time founder (Cambridge triple-first graduate in Physics, exited prior business), the company is a very young, well-funded, and highly ambitious startup backed by a leading VC and high-profile angels (including Charlie Songhurst).
DAY TO DAY…
We are looking for Business Builder to work closely with the founder and your business unit team of 4 to:
Clone, improve, and reimagine an existing business in light of AI and other modern technologies
Take the business from inception to profitability and exit-readiness within 12 months
Build out elements of the the company platform to allow us to scale multiple businesses in parallel
You’ll have meaningful autonomy, clear ambitious goals, and exposure to almost every part of building a company. Upon completion of your first business unit, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Continue running it, or
Lead a new team setting up the next business from scratch
YOU WILL:
Lead and execute the launch of a new e-commerce business unit
Analyse target markets, identify weaknesses in incumbents, and build superior offerings
Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, leveraging AI and other modern tools
Manage the full operational cycle - from supplier relationships to fulfilment, marketing, and sales
Track and meet ambitious performance targets with the founder’s direct support
Contribute to the scalable venture-building platform to support future units
Drive towards defined benchmarks that unlock performance bonuses and long-term equity
The ideal candidate…
This is not a 9–5 job — you will work hard, move fast, and results will be rewarded
Must-haves:
Intellectual curiosity and genuine interest in solving complex problems
Experience in e-commerce, startups, consulting, or other high-performance environments
Evidence of having built or made something interesting, from software or research to a commercial project
Comfort with at least basic coding (“vibe coding”) or using AI tools to accelerate execution
Highly ambitious and wants to do great work, rather than optimising for work-life balance. Willingness to work ~50+ hours/week to deliver against big goals
Strong academic record (A/A* at A-level)
Desire to be fully in-office in the central London office (Bank)
