Information on the company

Our client is a UK based serial entrepreneur who built and scaled a software business to over £50 million in total revenue before selling it for an eight-figure sum in 2024. Since then, they have invested that same decade of commercial expertise into building a highly engaged personal brand growing to over half a million social media followers  in just over a year.

The content they share is practical and grounded: real strategies on wealth-building through entrepreneurship and social media, drawn from lived experience. Now they are building what comes next, a SaaS platform for the creator economy, a co-working and creator accelerator community, and an expanding media operation across earned media,  YouTube, podcasting, newsletters, and more.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You will be driving the founder's personal brand, shaping their authority within their industry, protecting their long-term legacy and leading to the new company launch. You will be the bridge between founder storytelling and commercial outcomes, translating a compelling life and business story into media profiles, thought-leadership placements, and a reputation that compounds over time.

We are looking for an exceptional PR professional: someone who knows the UK entrepreneurship, business and startup media landscape inside out, has the relationships to open doors at the right places, and has the strategic instinct to build a PR function from the ground up.

You will own the development and execution of the entire stakeholder map from industry associations, government initiatives, Thought Leaders and earned media strategy to identifying the right podcasts and newsletters, to pitching, securing placements, and measuring impact. You will be a key voice in shaping how the world comes to know our client and their new business venture, working directly with the founder to build credibility, reach, and influence at scale.

STRATEGY and BRAND BUILDING

  • Define and execute the stakeholder map: the right audiences, the right channels, the right message, the right timing

  • Build a repeatable PR playbook that can scale as the Founder’s brand grows

  • Track and report on placement quality, audience reach, and downstream impact on Founder brand growth and commercial goals

  • Leverage and continuously grow a strong personal black book of contacts across the UK startup, VC, and entrepreneurship media ecosystems

  • Represent the founder with authority and credibility in all media relationships

  • Actively maintain and deepen relationships over time, not just activate them when a pitch is needed

Personal branding & thought leadership

  • Translate the founder's business vision and experience into high-impact articles, podcast appearances, and expert commentary in top-tier business publications

  • Secure guest spots on the right entrepreneurship, startup, and business podcasts, prioritising fit and audience quality over volume

  • Place thought-leadership op-eds in relevant national press, trade publications, and high-quality newsletters

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of media opportunities that are the right match for the brand at the right moment

Media relations & publicity

  • Pitch the founder's personal and business story to journalists, podcast hosts, newsletter editors, and producers across national and trade media

  • Build and continuously deepen relationships with editors, journalists, and content curators in the startup and creator economy space

  • Craft compelling, tailored pitches that cut through — and follow through to placement

  • Spot emerging media channels early and position the brand to be part of them

Podcast & Media Placement

  • Identify, prioritise, and secure guest spots on the right entrepreneurship, startup, and business podcasts, You Tube Channels in the UK and beyond

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of media opportunities,  digital media, podcasts, newsletters, editorial features, and speaking slots, that are genuinely the right fit for the brand

  • Craft compelling, tailored pitches that cut through and land

  • Coordinate logistics end-to-end: briefing materials, scheduling, follow-up, and post-placement amplification

Newsletter & Digital Media

  • Identify and secure placements in high-quality entrepreneurship and startup newsletters and digital publications that reach the right audiences

  • Build relationships with editors, newsletter operators, and content curators in the startup and creator economy space

  • Spot emerging media channels early and position the brand to be part of them

The ideal candidate…

  • Equal parts strategic and hands on. Finger on the pulse of latest trends, ready to jump on any story opportunities. Adept at matching Founder storylines to the current press landscape

  • Demonstrable prior experience working in PR for entrepreneurs, founders, personal brands or building startups, this is non-negotiable. (Please include a portfolio of placements in your application)

  • Prior experience defending and executing stakeholder management strategies, not just executing campaigns, but owning the direction and rationale behind them.

  • A genuine, deep understanding of the UK startup, Content Creator and entrepreneurship media landscape,  the podcasts, newsletters, publications, and communities that actually matter, and how to pitch to them

  • Demonstrated ability to secure high-quality feature placements, not just mentions, but the right placements in front of the right audiences.

  • A sharp, confident communicator, (both written and verbal) someone who can write a pitch that lands, and represent a founder with credibility in any room.

Why work here?

  • Founding team impact. You will shape the PR function from scratch, the strategy, the playbook, and help build a new company brand from the ground up

  • Real ownership. This is a senior, strategic role with a seat at the table

  • Proven brand to build on. Half a million engaged followers and a credible founder story, strong foundations from day one

  • Direct collaboration. Fast feedback loops working directly with the founder.

Interview process

  • Zoom interview (30–60 mins). Portfolio reviewed in advance. Conversational format covering experience, approach, and contacts.

  • Short task (1–2 hours). Lightweight and skills-based, likely a strategy for landing a piece in a relevant publication, who you would target and whyt

  • In-person meeting (~1–1.5 hours). Deeper conversation on strategic thinking, ways of working, and alignment with the brand's direction.
