DAY TO DAY…
The organisation is hiring a hands-on, product-focused Software Engineer who bridges technical implementation with user needs and operational challenges. Your work will directly impact field operations, daily workflows, and measurable customer results across the platform.
Designing, building and owning complete features across the technology stack (Node.js, TypeScript, Vue.js, GraphQL, AWS, serverless architecture, SQL/DynamoDB).
Shipping production-ready features spanning transport planning, driver applications, payment processing, and business intelligence.
Working directly with customers and internal teams to understand workflows, investigate issues, and translate complex operational challenges into elegant technical solutions.
Prototyping and refining AI-powered capabilities that enhance planning, decision-making, and operational efficiency.
Participating in selected customer calls or site visits (alongside Product, Design, or Customer Success) when firsthand context improves development outcomes.
Transforming qualitative user feedback and operational metrics into precise technical specifications.
Partnering with Product and Design to rapidly prototype, validate, and deploy user-centric solutions.
Enhancing performance, monitoring, and system reliability as the platform scales.
Building internal documentation, playbooks, and engineering standards that elevate team capabilities during growth.
You'll work closely with:
The Chief Product Officer on product strategy, user experience, and prioritisation.
The Transport Director on operational context and workflow optimisation.
The Product Designer on converting insights into intuitive product experiences.
The CEO and broader team on high-impact initiatives directly influencing customer success.
The ideal candidate…
3+ years building web applications using modern technology stacks.
Demonstrated expertise (or strong aptitude) with: Node.js, TypeScript, Vue.js, GraphQL, AWS, serverless architecture, SQL/DynamoDB.
Solid grasp of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and contemporary engineering practices.
High-execution orientation—you thrive on owning problems completely, not simply completing tasks.
Confidence working with non-technical stakeholders (operations teams, customers, leadership) to understand requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
Genuine interest in AI and automation (whether LLMs, optimisation, or intelligent tooling) with pragmatic experimentation approach.
Strong product sensibility: you value impact, usability, and adoption equally with code quality
Builder mentality: you're energised by ambiguity, evolving processes, and diverse responsibilities in early-stage environments.
BONUS!
Background in logistics, automotive, operations-intensive, or marketplace businesses.
Familiarity with Test-Driven Development and structured testing methodologies.
Experience with data modelling in DynamoDB or relational databases.
Creating internal tools or operational workflow systems.
Implementing AI/ML techniques in production environments, even experimentally.
Why work here?
Build a category-defining product that's transforming a £1.5tn+ industry.
Join early with meaningful equity participation and the opportunity to shape engineering culture and standards.
Work on challenging problems at the intersection of AI, logistics optimisation, and real-world operational workflows.
Direct impact on customer outcomes with a team that prioritises product excellence and pragmatic execution.
Competitive salary with discretionary performance-based bonuses.
High-specification MacBook and quality equipment.
28 days annual leave plus birthday holiday.
